FINGAL is one of a series of traditional lapstrake sailing dinghies built by Wright’s of Ipswich during the 1950s and 60s. Principally these were the Twinkle Class available as 10ft or 12ft sizes with a few 14ft dinghies built. Many of the Twinkle Class were raced at Overy Staithe Sailing Club in Norfolk and a good class representation still exist proving the popularity of the design. The Twinkle 10 makes an idea yacht tender for a classic sailing or motor yacht and is an excellent boat for the family to learn and enjoy sailing in true Swallows and Amazon’s style.

OUR DADDY was built in Looe, Cornwall in 1921 by local boat builder Dick Pearce. She was commissioned by the Pengelly family and built to join their fleet of fishing boats that included “Our Boys” and “Our Girls” hence the name “Our Daddy”.
A 45ft Standing Lugger, she was the last lugger to be built to sailing lines and to work out of Looe, Cornwall. KNAVE OF HEARTS was built in 1936 by the well respected Thames based company of Kris Craft of Isleworth. Unfortunately not a great deal is known about her early history although KNAVE OF HEARTS until recently was a familiar sight on the River Thames. Her former owner was a founding member of the Thames Vintage Boat Club and KNAVE OF HEARTS is listed as boat number 2 on their register. ONDINE was designed by Frederick Parker and built by Woodnutts, Isle of Wight in 1960 for D A Kelsey of London. She was initially stationed at Poole and later at Hamble. In new ownership in the late 1960s of Mr & Mrs E M Dallimore, ONDINE was moved to Burnham on Crouch, she has remained on the East Coast since in the current 30 year ownership.

Built in 1922 in St Ives by P P Landers and launched in May of that year as a fishing vessel, BEN MY CHREE (Manx for Girl of My Heart) registered number SS139 for Richard Boase. Fished out of St Ives until the late 1930s then sold in to private ownership to Bernard Wilkinson of Keward House, Hampshire. Converted to a private, twin screw motor yacht and registered as SUNGEI. NORDOST is a fully documented ‘Windfall Yacht’ so-called as they fell like ripe fruits after the Second World War and were brought back to England as spoils of war. NORDOST was liberated by a Spitfire pilot and sailed back to Harwich in 1946 from the Dutch Canal where she was in use as accommodation for Luftwaffe pilots.
